My Roses

Ahhhhh, roses.  Just saying the word makes me happy.  I’ve joined Rose Societies and forums, gone to rose shows, read tons of rose books, had trial and error…and error…and error in my rose gardens, but still just can’t get enough of my favorite plant.  These plants just fascinate me with their bloom colors, and the different bush shapes, and to-die-for fragrances, and the history.  Oh, don’t even get me started on how cool it is to grow something that was bred in the 1700s!  I love that feeling that I’m keeping my own little slice of history going by growing the antique roses.

These pages are divided into the different classes of roses I grow.  Included with pictures of the roses are descriptions of how they grow, their history, and anything else I can possibly think of that you might want to know. The lists show this information:

  • Class of Rose
  • Year Introduced

Bred by and/or Country of Origin

  • Parentage
  • Color
  • Bloom Description
  • Fragrance
  • Repeat Bloomer or Once Bloomer
  • Height x Width
  • Zones it grows in
  • Miscellaneous Info
